Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 2026-08-31 · Effective date: 2026-08-31

1. About these Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Tinyo, a digital service designed to help parents and adult caregivers organise and maintain personal records relating to children's health and wellbeing.

Tinyo is operated by André Ferreira, operating as an independent professional under the Tinyo brand, in Portugal ("Tinyo", "we", "us" or "our").

By creating a Tinyo account or using Tinyo, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not create an account or use the service.

Our Privacy Policy and Medical Disclaimer form part of the legal information applicable to your use of Tinyo.

2. Who can use Tinyo

Tinyo is intended for parents and other adult caregivers who are responsible for organising information relating to children in their care.

Tinyo is not intended for children to create or manage their own accounts.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account and must keep your account information reasonably up to date.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the appropriate authority to enter information about a child into Tinyo and, where applicable, to share that information with another caregiver.

3. What Tinyo is

Tinyo is a personal record-keeping and organisation tool.

Depending on the features available to you, Tinyo may allow you to: create and manage child profiles; record health and medical events; record medications and medication-related information; record consultations and other health events; record growth information; record vaccination information; organise information chronologically; acknowledge medication doses; export information; invite other caregivers to access or manage shared child profiles; and use additional features made available through paid plans.

Features may change over time as Tinyo develops.

4. Tinyo is not medical advice

Tinyo is not a healthcare provider.

Tinyo does not: diagnose medical conditions; provide medical advice; recommend treatments; prescribe medication; determine whether a medical condition is serious; replace a doctor, pharmacist, nurse or other qualified healthcare professional; or provide emergency medical services.

Information entered into or displayed by Tinyo is intended to help you maintain a personal record. It should not be treated as professional medical advice.

You are responsible for decisions concerning the health and medical care of the children in your care.

If you believe a child requires medical attention, contact an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

In an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency services rather than relying on Tinyo.

5. Creating and protecting your account

Some Tinyo features require an account.

When creating an account, you agree to provide information that is accurate and belongs to you or that you are authorised to provide.

You are responsible for keeping your authentication credentials and account access secure.

You must not: share your account credentials with another person; impersonate another person; attempt to access another user's account without authorisation; use Tinyo to gain unauthorised access to another person's information; or use Tinyo in a way that violates applicable law.

If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us at hello@tinyo.app as soon as possible.

6. Information you enter into Tinyo

You retain responsibility for the information you enter into Tinyo.

This may include personal and health information concerning yourself and children in your care.

You represent that you have the appropriate authority to provide this information to Tinyo and to use the relevant Tinyo features.

You should not enter information about another person where you do not have an appropriate legal basis or authority to do so.

7. Sharing child profiles with other caregivers

Tinyo may allow you to invite another caregiver to view or manage a child's profile.

You are responsible for choosing who receives access.

Before inviting another person, make sure that sharing the relevant information is appropriate and lawful.

Depending on the role granted, another caregiver may be able to access or manage information associated with the shared child profile.

You should remove access when a person should no longer have access to the child's information.

Child profile archival and scheduled deletion: Archiving a child profile is different from deleting it.

When the owner schedules deletion of a child profile, Tinyo schedules permanent deletion after a recovery period of seven (7) days. During that period, the profile is not available for ordinary health-data access or normal export. Only the owner may restore the profile during the recovery period.

After the recovery period expires, the child profile, its Collaboration Space, and associated health records are permanently deleted in accordance with Tinyo's deletion procedures.

Account deletion and shared children: Where a caregiver is a collaborator on a child profile owned by another caregiver, deleting that collaborator's Tinyo account does not necessarily delete the shared child profile. The child profile may remain available to the owner and other authorised caregivers.

Where the person deleting their account is the owner of a child profile, the owned child profile and associated Tinyo records are deleted in accordance with Tinyo's account-deletion process.

8. Free and paid features

Tinyo may provide a free version of the service together with optional paid features or plans.

Paid features may include, depending on the plan and version of Tinyo available at the time: additional child profiles; additional growth history; PDF export; inviting additional caregivers to manage or view child profiles; and other features identified as paid features within Tinyo.

Where a feature requires payment, the applicable price and any additional terms will be presented to you before you purchase it.

Prices and available features may change over time.

Any subscription, payment, cancellation or refund rights will be governed by the terms presented at the time of purchase and any mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer law.

9. Exporting your information

Tinyo may provide functionality allowing you to export information associated with your account.

Exports may be provided in formats such as JSON or PDF depending on the features available to you.

You are responsible for protecting exported files after they have been downloaded or shared.

Exported files may contain sensitive health information and should be stored and shared carefully.

10. Your privacy

Your use of Tinyo involves the processing of personal data, including potentially sensitive health information.

Our processing of personal data is described in the Tinyo Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains, among other things: what information we process; why we process it; how we protect it; how long we retain it; when information may be shared; international transfers; your data protection rights; and how to contact us about privacy matters.

11. Account deletion and recovery

You may request deletion of your Tinyo account using the account deletion functionality made available within Tinyo.

When you schedule account deletion, Tinyo schedules permanent deletion of your account and associated data, signs you out, and gives you a recovery period of seven (7) days to restore your account before permanent deletion proceeds.

If you restore your account during the recovery period, scheduled account deletion is cancelled.

Restoring your account does not automatically restore health-data processing consent if you had previously withdrawn it. You must grant consent again explicitly before using health-record features that require it.

After the recovery period expires, Tinyo's account-deletion process permanently removes the account and associated Tinyo data in accordance with our deletion procedures.

This includes the account's associated child profiles and health records where the deleted user is the owner of those records.

Where a deleted user is only a collaborator on another person's child profile, the shared child profile may remain available to the owner or other authorised caregivers.

Some limited information may be retained where required or permitted by law, or where retention is controlled by third-party infrastructure providers under their own applicable obligations.

Further information is provided in our Privacy Policy.

12. Availability and changes to Tinyo

We aim to keep Tinyo available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

Tinyo may occasionally be unavailable because of: maintenance; updates; technical failures; security incidents; infrastructure failures; third-party service failures; or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may modify, improve, suspend or discontinue features of Tinyo.

Where a change materially affects your rights or use of the service, we will provide appropriate notice where required by applicable law.

13. Third-party services

Tinyo relies on third-party services to provide parts of its functionality, including authentication, hosting, infrastructure and database services.

These services may include providers such as: Supabase; Vercel; Flinku, for invitation and deferred-install flows; Google, where Google authentication is used; and Apple, where Apple authentication is used.

Your use of third-party authentication or services may also be subject to those providers' own terms and privacy policies.

Tinyo is not responsible for the independent operation of third-party services.

14. Intellectual property

Tinyo, including its software, interface, branding, visual design, text, logos and other original content, is owned by or licensed to Tinyo unless otherwise stated.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of Tinyo's intellectual property to you.

You may use Tinyo only for its intended purpose and in accordance with these Terms.

You must not: copy or reproduce Tinyo's software or interface; reverse engineer or attempt to extract its source code except where permitted by law; remove proprietary notices; use Tinyo's branding without permission; or commercially exploit Tinyo without our permission.

15. Your content and feedback

You retain responsibility for the information you enter into Tinyo.

You grant Tinyo the limited rights necessary to store, process, display, transmit and otherwise handle that information solely for the purpose of providing the service to you and fulfilling our legal and contractual obligations.

We do not acquire ownership of your health records by providing Tinyo.

If you provide feedback, suggestions or ideas about Tinyo, you allow us to use that feedback to improve the service without creating an obligation to compensate you, provided that doing so does not involve disclosing your private health information.

16. Prohibited use

You must not use Tinyo to: unlawfully process another person's personal data; access information belonging to another user without authorisation; interfere with the operation or security of Tinyo; attempt to bypass security or access controls; introduce malicious code; use Tinyo for unlawful purposes; or use Tinyo in a manner that could reasonably harm the service or other users.

17. Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Tinyo is provided on an "as available" basis.

We do not guarantee that: Tinyo will always be available; every feature will always work without interruption; information will never be lost due to circumstances outside our control; or Tinyo will meet every particular requirement you may have.

You remain responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of information that is particularly important to you, including exported health records where appropriate.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

18. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tinyo will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law, including liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable consumer or data protection legislation.

Nothing in these Terms removes your statutory rights.

19. Suspension or termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Tinyo where reasonably necessary, including where: you materially breach these Terms; continued use presents a security risk; use of the service is unlawful; or we are required to do so by law.

Where appropriate and legally possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

You may stop using Tinyo at any time.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Tinyo develops or as legal or regulatory requirements change.

When changes are material, we will provide appropriate notice and, where required, ask you to accept the updated Terms before continuing to use relevant features.

The version and acceptance status of applicable legal documents may be recorded as part of your account.

21. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide you with additional rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms prevents you from exercising mandatory rights available to you under the laws applicable to you.
